Painted & stone-set by hand
Every stone on this piece was placed one by one.
Kalpana paints each swaroop, toran and nameplate at her table in Valsad, then sets the kundan by hand. No two come out the same. Tell her the size and colours you want — she makes it for your wall.

How one piece comes together
This is the actual order of work, and it is why a piece takes about a week and a half.
Cutting the board
MDF is cut to your size and sealed, so it does not warp in humidity.
Painting the face
Acrylic base, then the features. This layer dries overnight before anything else touches it.
Setting the kundan
Stones, beads and mirror work go on one at a time with a fine applicator. The slowest part.
Sealing & packing
Matte varnish, hanging hook fitted, then bubble wrap and a hard carton box.

The person behind it
“I started with one piece for my own door. A neighbour asked for the same, and it never really stopped after that.”
Kalpana has been painting and doing kundan work for six years, mostly from home. She takes a limited number of orders each month so that every piece gets the time it needs — which is also why she will tell you honestly if a deadline is too tight.
Pieces have gone to homes in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and to families in the US and UK who wanted something from home on their wall.

What people said after it arrived
Ordered the 18″ swaroop for our new flat. The blue is deeper than the photo and the stone work is much finer in person. Packed really well, nothing shifted.
Got a nameplate made with our surname in Gujarati. She sent a sketch first and changed the border twice without any fuss. Took 12 days.
Bought 15 small torans as return gifts for my daughter’s wedding. Everyone asked where they were from. Bulk price was fair.
